SALISBURY, N.C. – The fourth suspect in the shooting of a Rowan County volunteer firefighter appeared before a judge Friday morning.

Tramel Hart turned himself in to authorities Thursday night. He is charged with accessory after the fact in the shooting of Marcus Kaufman.

Hart was assigned an attorney.

Marcus Kaufman was shot in the head during a break in at his home on Dec. 2 and remains in the hospital. Authorities are awaiting lab results as to whether he was shot with a 45-caliber Glock handgun found earlier this week.

Khari McClelland, Michael Teasley and Jaylend Turner are also in custody.
