CHARLOTTE – Police are investigating an attempted robbery that turned into a hit-and-run Wednesday morning.

Police say two men tried to rob the victim as he was walking on Old Hickory Court in east Charlotte. As the car turned around in the cul-de-sac, the suspects' vehicle struck the victim.

Police say the victim then pulled out a gun and fired several shots at the car. One of the bullets hit a nearby home but no one was hurt.

Police are not sure if any of the bullets hit the suspects' vehicle.

The extent of the victim's injuries are not known.
