Early voting begins for May 6 primary election

The May primary for this year's mid-term election is less than two weeks away, but early voting begins Thursday across North Carolina and ends on May 3. Voters can decide on the U.S. Senate and Congressional races. 7:23 AM

Legislative committee proposes removing Common Core standards

A legislative committee said Common Core education standards should be removed from North Carolina schools. The commission is sending a bill proposal to the full General Assembly that would end this controversial curriculum in the classroom.
