CHARLOTTE—The filming of a television pilot caused serious problems for rush hour drivers trying to get to uptown Charlotte Tuesday morning.
A portion of North Tryon Street was shut down and traffic leading into Uptown moved at a snail's pace because of the production. South Boulevard, Tryon south of Hill Street and College were all very slow going Tuesday morning.
The same production crew responsible for the Homeland series is in Uptown is shooting the pilot for a drama called The Novice.
Crews will be shooting around Uptown for most of Tuesday and said the show is described as a dark comedy.
Although the filming takes place in Charlotte, the show is actually set in California.
The pilot's stars include Shane Coffey from Pretty Little Liars.
Production crews said they are going to be filming in Uptown on and off for the next 10 days. However, they said Tuesday should be the only time people see major street closures and delays.
