MOORESVILLE -- PETA says a video shows animal neglect at the Lazy 5 Ranch in Rowan County.

The animal rights group is using the animal park as part of its lawsuit against the Department of Agriculture for failing to monitor and regulate the welfare of birds.

Ranch owner Henry Hampton says they take good care of their animals, and it's just PETA attacking his farm, again.

PETA, meanwhile, wants the ranch shut down.

“It'd be best for these animals to be sent to reputable sanctuaries,” said Delcianna Winders, PETA.

“They use threats and lawyers,” said Hampton. “If we're put out of business, it'll be because of the people, not because of PETA.”

PETA wants people to stay away from the Lazy 5 Ranch.

The ranch owner says to visit the ranch and judge for yourself.
