CHARLOTTE -- N.C. House Republicans are making another attempt to pass a voter ID law requiring everyone to show photo identification before voting in person.
House Speaker Thom Tillis and the chairman of the house elections committee have scheduled a news conference Tuesday to lay out their plans.
Republicans passed a photo ID requirement in 2011, but it was vetoed by Democratic Gov. Beverly Perdue.
New GOP Gov. Pat McCrory supports voter ID requirements.
