CHARLOTTE—There is more good news to report about one of our own News 14 Carolina family members.

Reporter Caroline Vandergriff was all smiles as she was released from the rehabilitation facility Friday morning and headed home. Vandergriff was shooting video of traffic lights out at the intersection of East Morehead Street and Kenilworth Avenue in January when two cars collided.

One of those cars hit Vandergriff. Throughout her hospitalization and recovery she has been incredibly upbeat and says she continues to get better everyday.

“There is still a long road to recovery and more in the journey but this is definitely a significant day and I am very excited that I am well enough to be able to go home and start progressing and healing from there," said Vandergriff.

Caroline sends her thanks to all her well-wishers from across the state and across the country. Everyone at News 14 Carolina wishes her the best and we will continue to keep you updated on her progress.
