FAYETTEVILLE--For many families, the Thanksgiving holiday is wrapped in tradition and that means going to the movies.

At a theater in Fayetteville, the management said that business usually picks up after people have had their Thanksgiving meal.

One customer said a movie on Thanksgiving is a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of the holiday.

"I've done it with my family for probably over 20 years, so it's a nice break and it's a nice getaway and you can watch movies at home, but you're at home packed with all of those people but you come to a theater and you get anonymity again,” said Bryan Wedemeyer.

Popular movies this Thanksgiving are “Lincoln,” “Breaking Dawn, part 2” and "Skyfall."
