CHAPEL HILL – The North Carolina Tar Heels (4-2, 1-1 ACC) bring a three-game winning streak to south Florida the week when they take on Coastal Division-leading Miami.
The Hurricanes are 3-0 in the ACC but have been hammered outside the league – falling 52-13 last month to Kansas State and dropping a 41-3 decision to Notre Dame last week.
Miami allows about 250 yards on the ground, which should be music to the ears of Tar Heels fans. Running back Gio Bernard put up 262 rushing yards last week in a 48-34 win against Virginia Tech. He has 475 yards on the season in just four games.
Head Coach Larry Fedora says while he is impressed with Bernard's performance, he is not surprised.
“For us, it's kind of old hat, that's what he does. If you get him in that second level and he can make that linebacker miss or the safety, he's got a chance for a big play,” Fedora said.
The game kicks off at 2:30 p.m. Next up for the Heels is a showdown with Duke.
