This week on Your Home, we're focusing on seniors and how difficult it can be when the time comes for them to leave a longtime family home. A new online tool called the LikeStyle Indicator, aims to make that process a whole lot easier.

"To help people and their adult children find a senior living community that's right for them. There's so many out there, so many decisions to make and so many things that appeal to people that really have to find out what you're looking for before you start to look for it," explained Jackie Stone, SVP Marketing/PR Jewish Senior Life.

The LikeStyle Indicator is available to anyone with access to the web. By answering a series of detailed questions, the indicator will be able to provide you with a personalized profile to help you narrow down exactly what you're looking for in a senior living community.

"It will help you through the process of what kinds of things are important to you or your parent. As far as socialization, private time, the kinds of ways they spend their time, whether or not they have long term care insurance, whether an insurance policy is important to them. There's a lot of questions that center around their lifestyle, finances, health, etc." said Stone.

It really is as easy as answering a few questions that will classify you or your parent into one of a few categories such as a social go-getter, or a thoughtful individualist. Take it from Katherine, 92, who made the move a few years ago from a 6 bedroom house, to just two rooms in a new senior living community.

"I love it, I really do. I should have done it much earlier. I waited until I was 86-years-old to sell my house," said Katherine, a senior community resident.
