HARMONY, N.C. -- A small group of demonstrators stood for peace Saturday in the small Iredell County town of Harmony.
Armed with signs and flags they spoke out against a scheduled rally and cross burning by the Ku Klux Klan and it appears their plan worked. Neighbors say members of the Loyal White Knights' made a brief appearance Saturday afternoon, then left the area. Several sources say they moved their rally to the North Carolina-Virginia state line.
In response, the town of Harmony posted a notice on its website saying it is a, "small, peaceful town that loves everyone no matter their skin color.''
