CHARLOTTE — Police are investigating after a teenage girl was found dead in southwest Charlotte.

Investigators said a friend dropped off Aerial Patterson, 17, at a vacant house on Arbroath Ct. Friday night. She was supposed to meet someone there. When her friend returned to pick Patterson up she was found dead in the yard.

It was not what neighbors expected to see when they woke up Saturday morning.

"It does not make you feel real well. We have never had nothing like this happen in this neighborhood, wake up in a cul de sac full of police cars, detectives, fire trucks, ambulances, and a dead body," said neighbor Scott Toney.

Anyone that may know anything that may help investigators is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. ClientIP: UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
