CONCORD -- A retired Mecklenburg County sheriff didn't let his blindness stop his lifetime dream. Ronnie Presnell got behind the wheel of his 1968 Camaro at Charlotte Motor Speedway with NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace as his co-pilot Wednesday.

A car accident in 1998 left Presnell blind and in a coma for six weeks. After his lap around the track, he switched seats and let Wallace take him for a ride.

Not only did Presnell drive the car, but he actually restored every piece of the Camaro by himself.
