WILMINGTON – A star high school football player in Duplin County is scheduled to appear in court Friday.

Omar Carr, a senior running back from Wallace-Rose Hill High School, is charged with the sale of a controlled substance and trafficking opium and heroin.

Carr was named the Class 1A preseason player of the year by ncpreps.com. He rushed for nearly 2,000 yards and scored 23 touchdowns as a junior.
