CHARLOTTE — For the third year in a row, bikers will raise money for injured and fallen Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officers.
The Thin Blue Line Ride will be April 2 and starts in Rock Hill, SC and ends in Charlotte. The event comes on the heels of the tragic line of duty death of Officer Fred Thornton.

"We'll be able to give a portion of the proceeds from that ride to Officer Thornton's family," said Heidi Crater, ride organizer.

Money is raised by two groups; April Five, which helps officers injured in the line of duty, and Forever Blue, which helps families of officers killed in the line of duty.

"For us we've had a long standing tie with law enforcement on a lot of levels," said Ken Lipack of Harley Davidson Charlotte. "There is various funds set up to help officers and their families, there are absolutely gaps." ClientIP: UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
