WINSTON-SALEM - It's not a teen idol or pop star that's packing the Lawrence Joel Coliseum Complex these days – it’s cheap shopping.
Hanesbrands kicked off it's annual Sample Sale in the Education Building this week. Thousands of pieces of inventory were marked down to below wholesale prices -- from jackets to bras to men’s shirts in all shapes, sizes and colors.
The items are name brands like Bali, Hanes, and Champion.
"My bras are like $34, $35 and here get it for $4. So you can't beat that," said Nadina Clark as she shopped Friday.
It's the 15th year the Winston-Salem-based hosiery company slashed prices for the sale.
The event draws more than 15,000 people a year. And because of the demand, Hanesbrands extended this year's sale from three to five days and moved it to the LJVM Coliseum Complex.
"I'm a single parent, so I'm always trying to shop at the bargain stores, trying to spend my money the best I can,” said Clark.
Shopper Kiona Cuthrell said saving money is a priority for the family.
"It's worth digging through all this mess for a couple of shirts and shorts because of the prices."
Hanesbrands Sample Sale is inside the LJVM’s Education Building Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission and parking are both free. Shoppers can park in Gate 5 off Deacon Boulevard. The sale ends Saturday.
