Weekday Morning Anchor
Tracey grew up in Fredericksburg, Va. as the youngest of four siblings. But they spent many summers at their grandparents' farm in Bertie County, N.C. eating plenty of Eastern North Carolina Barbecue. Her brothers and sister quickly taught her to fight for her share (especially at the dinner table), which helped to drive her appetite for news at an early age. Armed with a home video camera, she recorded her first newscast at the age of 10!
Tracey is a proud Elon University graduate where she played Division I soccer. During college, she interned for FOX 8 WGHP in High Point, N.C. She also interned for the Late Night with Conan O'Brien show in New York and worked for the CIA in Langley, Va.
Tracey landed her first job in TV news at WMBB, an ABC affiliate in Panama City, Fla. where her assignments ranged from traveling with the Commander of First Air Force to military bases in Canada, to racing an 8-year-old in a mile run on live television.
Tracey joined the News 14 Carolina team in 2004 as a reporter, covering stories from hurricanes to the General Assembly to the State Fair. One of her most memorable assignments was witnessing a state execution at Central Prison in Raleigh.
Tracey was promoted to Weekend Anchor in 2005 and Weekday Morning Anchor in August 2006. As an avid athlete and food lover, Tracey enjoys running, basketball, tennis and snowboarding... and discovering new eateries in the area.
If you see her out, please say hello!
